Meet our President
President's Message

Dear all,
It is an honour and a privilege to begin my term as President of the Edmonton Indonesia Community Association (EICA). It is humbling to do so in the footsteps of Lela Brady, immediate past president of the EICA, who successfully brought the EICA to be recognized as Indonesian Community representative in Edmonton. She and her team demonstrated exceptional work and a tremendous determination to make the EICA become home of the Indonesian Community. I am also very grateful to the founding father of EICA (Ismal, Rene, Asri as first president, Lela B., Hidajat, and others who I can not name them all here) for their effort for establishing the EICA
I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge all members who work together and make the EICA a more valuable part of its members’ lives. I am, as a new president, extremely grateful to all members for the support of the past few years and hoping that this support will continue to make the EICA a success.
I am responsible for ensuring that the EICA is working hard to serve its members. I am your representative within the Indonesian Community. I encourage all of you to not only participate in the “Heritage Festival” but also all the EICA’s activities and committees. I also encourage you to talk to the board of directors about your needs and concerns. In this opportunity I also invite other Indonesian/Canadians who are concerned about Indonesia to join the EICA.
The challenge now facing the EICA is to continue the work we have done and increase our commitment to support the board of directors. We are collectively ultimately responsible for its success. Together, we can make the EICA better.
I look forward to leading the EICA into the next term of its activities and to working closely with all of you in what promises to be very exciting times ahead.
Best regards,
Septa Rendra
EICA President
